We are family-run Big in Fresh with a local farm including a shop to sell and grow strawberries, however, we sell more local local produce such as dairy, fruit and vegetables and many more delicacies.

Our strawberries have been a household name in the West Friesland area for years. To get our produce as fresh as possible to the end consumer, we decided at an early stage to keep sales in our own hands. This resulted in a cosy farm shop and in season a sales stall on location at garden centre Boet in Hoogwoud. In summer time, we organise several picking days, so consumers can come and pick their own fresh strawberries in the greenhouse.

Since the quality, taste and colour of our strawberries are paramount, it is vital that everything we do is geared towards that. The irrigation water is also an important part of this, and because the basin water is often full of algae and biofilm, we started looking for a solution. So we ended up with Ultramins from Zwaag, not far from here.

Frankly, we were amazed that one USAF™ transmitter achieved these results after just a few weeks. We saw it in the reduction of algae, the breakdown of biofilm on the walls and the cleanliness of the intake tube. Filters and drippers are no longer clogged, which really saves us a lot of time and work in terms of cleaning.

In short, we can again fully focus on growing our delicious strawberries and hereby invite everyone to come and taste them!
