Family Fresh Farms - Patrick de Craen - Baby Cucumbers - Australia
For several months now, we have been using the USAF™ transmitters from Ultramins in our entire water chain, from basin to daily supply.
I am the (Dutch) site manager at Family Fresh Farms in Australia, where we Qukes™ Baby Cucumbers rebuild in two high-tech greenhouses from each 2.5 hectares.
I was already familiar with the transmitters through a contact in the Netherlands who had very good experiences with them in cucumber cultivation. This piqued my interest and I was curious whether the transmitters would also be effective under the extreme climate conditions here in Australia. Our goal was controlling algae and biofilm and reducing viral pressure from the water. At the time of installation, we were already using, among others UV filters and nanobubble generators. Shortly after installation, we already saw a positive impact on water quality; pathogen pressure decreased.
What surprised me extra, however, was the excellent cooperation with the nanobubbles! Only after adding the USAF™ transmitters oxygen levels in the water began to increase significantly, which was evident in improved root development. Also at extreme temperatures and lots of sunlight transmitters work excellently for the control of algae in the basin water. In addition, we noted that there are no waterborne virus is present in the drain water. What is further noticeable is that our atomising/misting system no longer gets clogged, which saves us a lot of time and therefore costs.
In short, we are very satisfied with this investment; the transmitters have made our water quality significantly improved and certainly contribute to increasing production per square metre. Also about Ultramins we are positive: their support and service are of a high standard and they guided us excellently.
